Privacy Policy

TX Australia Pty Limited ABN 98 086 979 339 (TXA) owns, operates, manages, engineers, maintains and markets transmission and re-transmission facilities in the five major mainland metropolitan cities of Australia.

We respect your privacy

TXA respects the privacy of all our clients, business contacts, and members of the public, and is committed to safeguarding the personal information provided to us. TXA is subject to the requirements of the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988.

This Privacy Policy outlines how TXA will handle personal information.

Personal information collected by TXA

If a television transmission problem is reported to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) or one of the three commercial metropolitan television networks, Seven, Nine and Ten (Networks) in respect to their services, personal information may be passed by them to TXA for the purpose of investigating the reported transmission problem.

Personal information collected may include name and address, telephone number and email address, so that if necessary you can be contacted about the issue reported and it can be further investigated.

TXA may also collect personal information from people with whom we do business, such as suppliers, clients and external service providers. TXA’s policy is only to use personal information collected from these business contacts for the primary business purpose for which it was collected.

Use of personal information

TXA does not sell or rent personal information to others, nor trade such information.

TXA may disclose personal information about you to third parties who help us to provide a service to you such as contractors investigating transmission or reception problems. If we have collected personal information about you from ACMA or the Networks in relation to a problem you have reported, we will notify them of the results of our investigation.

Otherwise, TXA will only disclose personal information if this is required by government officials or by law or as permitted under the Privacy Act.

Security of personal information

TXA takes steps to secure the personal information it collects. Personal information is stored in a secure database, which can only be read by our authorised staff. Paper files that contain personal information are locked away in secure storage.

Anonymous transactions

Members of the public may deal with TXA without providing personal information. If a problem is reported to us, however, without personal information being given, we may not be able to locate and therefore resolve the problem.

Access and corrections

Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to seek access to information which TXA holds about you (although there are some exceptions to this). You also have the right to ask us to correct information about you which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

If you wish to access or change the personal information that we hold about you, please set out your request in writing, and forward this to our Privacy Officer.

To provide you with access to your personal information, TXA will not charge you for viewing your personal information in person, but we may charge you for the cost of providing copies of it, if this is required.
